Student Activities enhances the student experience by developing and empowering students, creating opportunities for meaningful interpersonal relationships, supporting student organizations, and providing fun, engaging programs for the diverse campus community.

Foster Collaboration and Communication The key to building relationships is striving for excellence in communication and reaching out to groups and individuals to collaborate on programs, services, and other initiatives. Student Activities will work on collaborative relationships with and among student organizations, colleagues within and external to the university, university departments, advisors and external vendors. |

Cultivate a Student Focused Approach Student Activities will constantly strive for the highest level of quality in every program and service for the benefit of the student body. Advisement to Temple Student Government, Main Campus Program Board, Student Organizations, Fraternities and Sororities will be handled with the highest level of service, catered to the students’ needs and based around fundamental student learning outcomes. Student Activities’ programs and services will be designed to advance our students’ growth in areas of leadership development, self-awareness, independence and collaboration. The student’s perspective is always valued and remains paramount in decisions relating to programming and the services offered by the department. An intentional effort will be made in the advisor-student relationship to enhance the individual. |

Create Meaningful Experiences and a Sense of Belonging Welcome Week, Homecoming, Spring Fling, Service Immersion, Series Programming and Student Organizations provide opportunities for our students to build relationships with fellow students. All programs should encourage socialization, contribute to the feeling of community and provide a venue for learning outside of the classroom. Events and programs will be fun, showcase students’ diverse interests and talents and instill a sense of Temple pride. |

Continuously Learn and Evolve as an Organization Developing as an organization is essential. Staff will seek opportunities to expand skills related to programming, advising, assessment, fiscal responsibility, risk management, supervision and university systems. Student Activities will make every effort to constantly enhance programs and services based upon assessment and evaluation data, current trends and technological advancement. The department will find ways to creatively improve programs with limited resources and adapt to evolving standards and changes in the student demographic utilizing best practices in the field. |
